  • Psychic Weakness: Star Cipher is a high-risk, high-reward attack. If you can keep Unown VSTAR in play after using it, your other Psychic-type Pokémon or Pokémon with strong Psychic-type attacks can potentially deal massive damage and score easy Knock Outs.
  • Protecting Unown: Because the Psychic Weakness effect disappears if Unown VSTAR is Knocked Out, you must protect it. Strategies include moving it to the Bench after using Star Cipher and attaching tools like Hero's Cape or Survival Brace to increase its durability.
  • Deck Synergy: Unown VSTAR can be a strong support Pokémon in decks with other powerful Psychic-type attackers. For example, it pairs well with Shadow Rider Calyrex VMAX or Espeon VMAX, which can take advantage of the newly created Weaknesses.
